Subaroute - around the world in a forester turbo!
http://www.getjealous.com/subaroute
For anyone who hasn't read it yet, these guys are literally driving around the world in their Forester S Turbo!! (looks like our forester GT)
I am hoping to meet up with these guys when they are in queensland and I am sure a heap of you would like to as well. possibly a double island or fraser run would be in order??
I have also offered help with any parts sourcing / mechanical work they need so there may be a few opportunities for us guys with subaru knowledge / contacts to help their trip. I would love to see them leave the country with a subaextreme bullbar and sump guard, and a 2" lift
They arrive in perth at the end of this month, and they have a 1 year working visa so they will end up in QLD eventually. Should be great to meet them.
I will point them in the direction of this thread. hopefully they will come say hello.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the interest!! As Vincent Vega has told you all, we will be arriving in Australia the end of this month. The Forester has lasted fantastically. The only fault we had in the 45000km so far, is that the 2 rear suspension dampers (finally) wore out when we got to Thailand. We are now in Malaysia, and making our way to Singapore, where we are shipping our beloved Subaru to Fremantle. The car is totally standard, but I have fitted 5mm aluminium sump and differential diff gaurds, which have gotten alot of use. Thanks for your support, and hope to see you all real soon!!!

just been looking at some photos of the trip so far, and I think thay can do with a lift kit as it looks a bit low in the back sometimes, I think if we all put a few dollars together we could do somthing about helping them out.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Im now all grown up to an outback with a 2" lift and outback struts, ready to go off road and take on the world.

If the guys are interested in lifting the car then I am definately happy to help out. Brett might be able to organise a lift kit, and a set of raised springs for the rear wont cost much.riksta wrote:just been looking at some photos of the trip so far, and I think thay can do with a lift kit as it looks a bit low in the back sometimes, I think if we all put a few dollars together we could do somthing about helping them out.
I might even hit Scorpion Subaru up to see if they are interested in helping out

Which direction are you planning on traveling when you leave Fremantle Western Aust or Fremantle Tasmania?
Clockwise or Anti-Clock, reason I ask is because if you are going Clockwise we have the Wet Season (Monsoon) in the northern part of the country at the moment and that can make roads impassable for days or even weeks and the possibility of becoming stranded is increased, whereas if you go Anti-Clock and take a month or two it will be closer to the end of the Wet Season and less hazardous.
Something to contemplate on your way over here.
