I am guessing an EPA defect would be something along the lines of it not having a cat in the exhaust perhaps? Dunno how hard it would be to relicense in WA.

The EPA defect could be due to Noise pollution or due to not meeting atmospheric pollution targets.

Could be due to a straight through exhaust as gx_rex has said.

It also depends who did the exhaust.

I got a straight pipe with a Canon muffler installed by an exhaust workshop and when pulled over by the police I showed them the invoice from the job and they were on their way.

It seems they only have a go at you if you have done it yourself (well in SA atleast)

Lucky...EPA can fine the workshop up to $10,000 for this sort of work in addition to defecting your vehicle

Sweet brumby

Id imagine the reserve price would be no lower than $15,000 :(

In NSW the engine needs to retain its original emission equipment when installed in older vehicle, and I think if an after market ECU is used an emissions test may be required at the Botany facility

Wonder if it comes with the girl it was featured with some years back?

Fedback rating is a little off at 92% !

Doesn't mean that much - more important is the attitude in response - sellers that go feral in response are the ones i steer away from.

For this amt of $$$ one would inspect

he says it's the one on youtube, but they are two different cars
unless he changed since being on youtube (put bumpers on, took turbo off, put stocko wrx rims on, etc.) have a look

Yes the one on you tube had the Turbo stuck out of the bonnet. Some good points made here.

* Yes, I would say $15,000 would probably be the reserve at least.
* If the bonnet and other things have been changed, is it the original 10sec motor.
* Why are they selling, does it say???

I thought it burnt in a warehouse fire too...

I could have this totally incorrect however at 1 point did they not have a Brumby called "FAR-LAP"? Maybe this was the 1 to go in the fire and this "HIS-14U" is another 1 (unless they just changed the plates).

I think I can confirm that this one is the supposed “FARLAP” due to the fact that on this web page you can see the “HIS14U” plates in the window.

http://www.tonyrigoliperformance.com.au ... _gold.html

This also has a pretty good chance to be the brumby in question doing the first dyno run of the clip………….

And yes EPA is incredibly strict in NSW. You will need an emissions test done for NSW roads before an engineer will even touch it. From memory mine was around the 1k for the engineering and the emissions. The emissions standard for the modified vehicle is determined by the age of the transplanted engine. So this means an engine made in 2003 that is used for the transplant must comply with all the EPA rules and regulations for that year. Lastly, I think cars only have to go to Botany for the emissions test if they have been defected by the police.

HOT 4's JUNE 2002 #82

HIS 14U plate on the front, FARLAP on the back

WRX 16's for the track, 17x8 for the street
David Khoury and Joe Georges were listed as the owners

weighs 1140kg

is the roll cage still there? looks like it goes through rear glass?

Ive noticed it uses a TB off something that once had water pass through it and they left the pipes in it, reversed the inlet manifold, TB now at front, looks to be a plate adaptor for the TB welded to manifold

the girls name is Lauren, age 18 then, she is a virgo and Celica was her favourite car at the time

Gee's if you were serious buyer you'd ask to see the defect notice complete with its date of issue and number
