Wrote my car off * NOW WITH PICS *

Post by H-top » Fri Nov 06, 2009 8:41 am

At 2130 last night, on my way back from a mates house,
I swirved to miss a kangaroo...and hit a tree..... The tree won.
My baby, my first vortex, is now probably a write off.

Pics to follow.
Just wanted to share it with subaru enthusiasts that understand.

Not sure when i'm holding a wake for her.

Cheers

You must be devastated.

oh shit mate.. Mate been there done that, wrote off my wagon a few years back because of bloody roo! (swerved to miss the roo but lost control and hit rear end to a tree and tried miss the tree but did it in wrong angle in last minute) Next time, mate drive towards the roo, don't swerve it (even any animals). Its not worth swerve around them as its too risky. Sorry to hear that, hope you can find a better Subaru!
Cheers

Thanx someguy. Yeah subius, i'm looking for another one, i won't let one accident stop me from owning cars i love.
It was just so hard to find one in good nick the first time :(
Yeah alpineraven i should have just nailed the roo.
If i'm lucky, it may be repairable. If not most would be salvagable.

Ouch that's bad news. Lucky you weren't hurt. Post up pics when u can, it will be interesting to get people's opinions on here. If it's front end damage get lots of pics of the engine bay from multiple angles.

Sorry to hear about the Vortex.
Glad to hear your are OK.
Here in the Hunter Valley NSW the roos are pretty bad too.
I am lucky (and that's all it is. Nothing else) as I have been in a car completely stopped and they have run in to the side (not my car) and on another occasion I know of a car stopped and the roo sat/jumped on its bonnet causing a fair bit of damage.
In your case it must have been scary and I do my best to avoid ending up the same way.
Best of luck finding a new car.

Yeah will get to a computer and upload. Would rather get it chalked up to a repairable writeoff.

you have my sympathy.... i get upset when I have to sell cars :( if it were up to me all cars should be kept and kept in good condition!

if thats the sort of car you love then you should get another one. I branched out into different cars after my second one's death and regretted it :(

You could convert from 2WD to AWD/4WD from your old one?
You could buy it back from the insurance and transfer everything from your one into next one.. Just a thought... I wish I did that with my previous liberty and the guy bought it from auctions for $500, and I was stubbing myself!
