The L, how she stands at the moment. :)

Post by subarooster » Tue Apr 06, 2010 5:53 pm

Just thought i'd post a few photos of my L and how she looks now. EJ conversion is closing in fast, with all the parts collected just trying to find time to start. 2morro she is getting all new suspension bushes and a few other goodies, then its off to Autosalon for tinting. :) Cheers

Yeah 27's, they are 27/8.5/r14 super trippers.

I'm currently running a set of Cooper somethings. They look way too fat for the subi though!

They went extremely well on the sand last weekend :D

"kumho KL71" in same size if your on good terms with a tyre shop bout $215 each, pretty cheap for that size, very offroad tyre, perfect for mud, and still good on the sand, and they make anything look like a beast lol...

or "kumho 834" same size little more light truck style

also another brand i can get from my local o'neals tyres for $235ish in an A/T style rather that M/T... i'll find out what they were...

Ahh very helpful so far :) just hitched the boat on (only a 12 ft) and with the stiffer springs etc, it tows alot better and hardly even drops in the rear wen connected up. Took it for a quick drive up the road while towing and realise now that a clapped out EA82 with a weber is not ideal for towing. lol This brings forth more motivation for the EJ conversion and got me thinking on setting the car up for camping/fishing and touring as i hav holidays soon and was planning on taking the boat/ car load of gear out to copeton dam. (near inverell) Does anybody have or know where i could get my hands on stiffer front king springs? is there even such a thing? Cheers

super trippers used to be awesome value for $115a tire but they changed the pattern. if i were you i would with out question get the maxxis buckshots they do them in a 27" they were $165 a tire about a year ago when i got a quote. i have bfg all terrains they are pretty good i got a set for $300 bucks for 6 off a guy who has a ute in the endeavor rally i couldn't pass them up but if they weren't there i would of got the buckshots.

Yeah when i went into the local tyre shop, he recommended the buckshots. they're slighty narrower i think he said but he said they're definately better than super trippers. I think he said they were somewhere around $160 a tyre which is pretty good in my opinion, thought it would hav been alot worse then that. Thanks for the help!
