Your Christmas wish list- Subaru based

Post by Hazey » Sun Dec 05, 2010 3:03 am

Time for a little fun and get into the spirit of the season. Who knows, maybe the jolly fellow in the red suit might stumble upon this site for some ideas :D

Some simple guidelines- List three products you would like to find under your Christmas tree for your Subaru. No pie-in-the-sky items or things you can only dream to exist... Basically any product you can actually get a hold of in the foreseeable future, new or second hand.

I'll get the ball rolling with my top three, in no particular order:
-SubaXtreme Brumby bullbar
-Rigid Industries 20" LED light bar
-A nice sized Waeco or Engel fridge.

Your turn :)

1. A decent tune on an EA82T fitted with an EMS stinger ECU done here in Toowoomba
(That will happen I expect)
2. A decent drink holder that I can permanently fit in the cab that looks like it was custom made for the Brumby ute and not some cheap ass junk that fits on to an air vent.
3. A long range stainless fuel tank fitted underneath for a planned trip to Darwin next year. Sheet metal worker son to look at that. Got more wishes if you want to expaaannnd the number.
1989 Subaru Brumby - EA82T 5speed box. 4wheel disc, electric Windows plus other goodies.
Future Plans- Seat upgrade and Possible EJ20T implant.

Have you had a look at the Gen2 Liberty pop out cup holder? It is DIN width, very slim and will take your can of coke/cup of coffee. 600ml bottles don't fit though...

Onto my wishlist:
1. My liscence back...

2. Gen1 dual range lib gearbox. Then i can think about building a magical centre locking, 4.44 ratio, 1.59 low range gearbox.

That's gotta suck mate - if you had've lost it in June you'd probably have it back for xmas!

Hope you're not sweating too much without it. I really feel for you, I'd be in a spot of bother if I'd lost mine.

Cheers

Get an AWD EJ gearbox and an EA L series gearbox (both dual range or single range), split them and swap internals. There might need to be a dedent ball and spring added to the EA's box to hold low range in place when selected but its nothing serious.

Use an L series low range. A little more mucking around but it is easily done - read up on Alpine Raven's write up about it. They're the same thing anyway, just that the L series one is already used...

Hope this brings some xmas cheer!
