I would imagine Foz would be identical, you'll need a manual tail shaft, pedal box and you have to change some of your wiring.
Your old auto tail shaft will be worth money as anyone putting a 6 speed into a Liberty will need it.
If you have room sometimes the cheapest option is to buy a wreck from Pickles or Fowles....especially next week as the cars go very cheap before Xmas, I bought 3 the same time last year for half what would be the normal going rate.

dont forget the ratio differences, Gen 3 Outback has 4.11 diff where abouts dual range is 3.9 so you'll need to change the rear diff.

just to clarify, you can use the box out of a forrie with it's matching diff, but you will need the manual tailshaft from an outback or liberty. you can use the clutch setup from the forrie too. Also, check the flange bolt pattern on the front of the diff, as there are differences.

I think that you will find that gen 3 outback and forester is 4.444 for auto and 4.111 for manual, only imports and liberty/impreza will be 3.9

Also h6 auto is 4.111

Anyway thats what my manual says:)
