Is the battery in remote central locking rechargeable?

If so I assume it is recharged when the key is in the lock. Correct?

Is a button battery - very disposable and ~$4 to replace depending on if there are 1 or 2 batteries in the remote.

Any chemist, Dick Smith, $2 shop etc will stock the model you need.

A bit of education.

Do you go to 7/11 and say you want icecream, then the guy has to ask you "what flavour?" Now you've both wasted time.

Now, if you said what sort of car, you would have had an answer by now.

Now, what sort of car; make, model, year, what remote are we taking about, factory or aftermarket?

Um, no. I go to 7-11 so one would assume it is a 7-11 ice cream. You know, comes from the same machine. That would take care of the first question.

Second, one would also assume there is the same motor, gearbox, ignition system (or ingredients, dispenser, franchise) so that would take care of part two.

Anyhoo, thank you Sven '2'. By the sounds of it there is a good chance I need to keep on top of battery charge and little screwdriver set so I can enter my Subaru if the battery runs out.

Must remember to change signature.

What will happen is the distance from which you can arm/disarm the car will reduce as the charge of the battery decreases.

Just keep an eye on this this and replace when you notice it.

Don't need to change your signature, just mention the car is a 2010 Diesel Forester in your first question, and the rest will flow accordingly.

You should still be able to enter the car if the remote fails.

It does still have a lock barrel on the drivers door.

i read these post all the time and only answer when i can contribute positive like i have two cars one has a remote one doesnt why is it when i go to 7-11 to get my icecream in the one without the remote do i walk inside only to have to walk back to lock my car and when in the one with the remote do i use the key to lock the door
