STI gearbox

Post by velocityboy » Mon May 02, 2011 9:27 am

[img][/IMG]Just haveing a look at the motor and box that I'm putting in my Brumby and noticed the auto box has a STI logo on the side of it. Dose that mean anything or are all these boxes marked STI? This is out of a 1991 RS GT liberty.

If you get the serial number, i'm sure someone will be able to tell you what the box came out of.

I had a gearbox (with engine) that had the same thing on it.. didn't see any difference in it and it came from a JDM GT Foz. It went into a WRX without any issues.. just needed to match the rear diff to the ratios.

That's true in Aus but Japan has had auto STi cars for many years.

Yep :)

velocityboy.. if you google the number (should start with TZ...) on the sticker next to where the starter motor, you should find some good info on it ;)
