The primer will be light grey, and there is no cost differance.
We now have fitted the LHS and are equally impressed !

Giles acknowledged the need for some internal bracing. I suggeted between side stays and hinges, maybe also needs braces to give support to the inside skin so we can continue to stand on them - but...if many are not able to afford new tailgates when they were available are we gonna be aable to afford these custom made gates ?

Does this mean I can keep the metal ones?

Not sure what is expected of an origanal brumby tailgate but to expect the original to carry any weight is unreasonable caues it is just two pieces of sheet metal and no WLL or SWL stamped into it. If an aftermarket gate is manufactured to similar specks at an affordable price then they will sell but it is unreasonable for the consumer to expect the TG to cary any weight.
Now I have troble seenig how they would be affordable to AUS consumers if they were made in the UK. NOW IF the TG was designed and engineered in the UK and manufactured in China or Taiwan I could see a sellable product.

Vietnam was offering some good deals - US$100 a month wages, five years rent paid for on the premises if in rural, or first year free in more populated areas. Imagine the tailgates you could punch out there in five years !!

Esp if it was made out of ABS or some other resilient plastic. FRP is great, its very versatile, but its still mostly for small production runs, therefore more expensive.

Despite that, I think there will still be a few new FRP Brumby TG & 1/4 panel owners here ;)

Top quality glass work there, reminds me of the Fibreglass guards bonnet etc on my Stanza Rally car, they were actually made by Purvis of the Eureka Volkswagen conversion Kit car fame out here and were top gear, these are to a similar standard from what a picture shows and I would not hesitate if I needed them.
One advantage for the off road guys they haven't thought of yet is the ease of modifying the guards for flares etc for more clearance, our cousins in the US would certainly entertain the thought as they use Salt in some areas as well.

After seeing a destroyed dash of an otherwise in great condition 93 brumby in Karratha, I was wondering if a fibreglass vinyl / leather / composite dash could be manufactured to replace a dead dash top.

How about a set of moulds with flares built in as well so people with lift kits and 14 inch rims don't need the rubber flares to make it look legal

Just me dreaming :)

+1 I'll be wanting a pair soon. I saw Giles had the first few off and pictures of them fitting perfectly, are they still made in batches?
