Greetings all, this is a seriously good forum! Good to see the subura culture strong.
I've been in IT and cafe culture a long time - had my car for 18 months now and im really starting to get into it. Im the sort of guy that really like to research and work with a shoestring budget (well, a bigger budget would be nice). I pay attention and research and try everything with the car currently - i know which fuels are the best for it, oils, etc etc.. stuff you guys probably know but, its new to me.
I do my own oil changes, sparks, air filters, etc - the simple stuff.
My projects with the car are to fix a ding in the back right (bumper paitn scrap and dint in metal), fix the mud gaurds, put a new sound system in, and right now, head over and ask some advice on the engine ( i washed it, now its louder and more powerful...wtf?).

Your problem has got me it mite be possessed.
Giving it a clean that's a cheap way of getting more power i might wash my car a bit more:rolleyes:

Welcome, I want your car. I wash my Forester almost weekly, If I had done that for a year I would have over 200Kw by now. haha

I work in IT too and since owning my Subaru have become quite into cars, mods and maintenance. Too bad you live on the otherside of the country...

I miss my frog eyed impreza, that was a fun car. Come to think of it, I miss my 2006 and 2008 Foz aswell.

was the engine hot when washed??? if it has a standard exhaust and it got real hot then you put cold water on it the metal may have fractured/cracked, that would explain the loudness and in some cases more power...

just a thought, enjoy your car swooper...
