WHEN did you get first Subaru?
I don't think this has been a post before in here at all, correct me if I am wrong. Seen what was your first though. You and your family members count.

1981 I got a 1980 leone wagon with the 1600 engine. it was slow but unstoppable i had it for 13 years. then a 1982 leone coupe. I retuned it to run on pulp and used to get 650 km per tank.
Sold her to get my first vortex. it was a auto 1.8 slow, low and sounds like a rex.
Then i got a turbo vortex to keep her company. it was quick and like a gokart.
I passed Turbo on to Toonga.
Now i can concentrate on doing the auto vortex back up to cruising condition.
Cheers Pete

1987.. I brought a new L touring wagon. Was a huge fuel saving from the 1979 Holden Caprice (with a 400ci Chev) that I used as a trade in.
As for how many I've had or still have, not enough time in the day :s

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

2006 personally, 1990 lseries. Wanky wagon.
My grandpa had a 82 Leone sedan since new, had an accident in about 1997 and welded the entire rear end of a different Leone to it. He's owned many in that time. Unfortunately he passed away before he got a chance to see my addiction.
We still see the old Leone kicking around which had the original ea81 with 400 000km in 2003 when dad sold it.
Alex is a mad dawg cos I sent this using Tapatalk.

Well if it's family my kids beat me easily, now son 25 daughter 27. Ex & I bought my daughter a 90ish Leone when she was 16 which she loved in the beginning and kept for about 3yrs, then my son bought a similar age Leone Royale when he was 17 (his 5th car lol), then another from the auctions with slight damage which he made money on, then a few more different cars before he bought an RS Liberty which is very well known around Perth and has since had at least $75,000 thrown at it by the next 3 owners (MEANRS)
My kids grew up with Steve from MMS (Rob & Dean Herridges builder/partner) in Perth after the ex & I split so they sort of had Subi's in their blood & there was really no choice, daughter has had a MY00 Ltd WRX for about 4 years and my son had a second RS then a MY99 2 Door STI which he sold about 10 months ago because he was going to Canada/US with his gf for a couple of years, cut short by her badly broken wrist whilst snowboarding, he's now driving my Liberty'
After driving Steve's WRX a few times I was convinced so about 7 yrs ago I bought a damaged GX from the auctions, had it fixed cos I was going to do an STI conversion on it but it was like new being a 93 with 47,000 on the clock so I sold it for a 6k profit and I bought the damaged Liberty, the rest is history & probably had about 15 damaged ones since as the profit's were quite nice for the work done.
I even bought a 96 Hatch with Paul RSR 555 and another guy about 5yrs ago but the other guy wanted things changed making me look like the baddy but eventually sorted. Funny thing is it ended up back at pickles about 18 months ago.

1981: Dad traded in his Moke to buy the MY wagon, which would be the family car and school bus for the next 10 years. Also went on a few trips with the Subaru offroad club, got some photos up somewhere of it dune bashing with other MY's
1991: Mum and Dad bought a 1 year old L series from Subaru (had been returned or something) this was the new family car while dad used the MY to get him to work for the next 10 years (When mum got a corolla and dad got the L) This also went offroading a bit, a few trips to VIC, one to ACT and some offroading in between. I will always remember dad getting bogged in the sand and flooring it, digging himself in
The MY sat under the car port for about 5 or so years, until my brother learned to drive. Car just started straight up and ran like a champ after all those years. Bro drove him and his friends around in it until about this time last year, when he finally got enough work to get his 04' WRX, leaving the MY to me! He pretty much hated the MY, he saw it as slow old and crap but it never let him down...except that one dime he didn't check the coolant for a long while, overheated and warped the heads, new engine required. He didn't look after it at all
Now I've got it and yes, admittedly it is worse now that when I started but I don't regret a minute of the tinkering that let me to where I am now. I now pretty much know it inside out, or the engine at least. And I love it to bits.
