ju a random thing :) what are the best seats to use?

Post by Subarubrumbyfan1991 » Thu Sep 15, 2011 6:51 pm

sorry theres a bit more than the heading says

i own a 91 brumby, and the standard seats just arent that great for use for longer than 5 mins, do i was wondering what is the best seats to use? and also where can i source a new seal in the gearbox for the gear selector linkage? i live in gympie qld and no one sells the seal.

another thing, what would cause the car to heat uo when you brake and take off but the car stays cool when on idle and when not accellerating?

another question, what would cause a knock on the front left end when acceleration, but not when coasting, its not the cv joint, or the bearing as they are both new, also everything is done up tight. and you cant feel any shakes or anything through the steering wheel when the knock is occurring.

lol yet another question, why would the steering wheel wobble when doing 80 or over? and its only there sometimes not all the time, its not the wheels unbalanced as that has been done every month since a year ago.

cheers, :)

Well contact FROG for parts.
I would also have the same problem with seats. You cant get any second hand brumby or l seats any more. Recaro if you have the money. Second hand STi or Foz i think work with modification (Plz correct me if im wrong). Or An aftermarket seat with some modification. I think this is right, i havn't done it before but want to as my seats are a piece of crap!

Cheers Cam

Best seats are GX Liberty 97/98, they should go in with a bit of help, I've got & had STI & WRX seats and all I can say about them is numb arse after 2 hours, I can drive the Liberty all day and get out feeling like I just went down the local shops, someone else can help with the suspension woes but a big breaker bar needed if you ask me to tighten things, stopped mine creaking.

thanks for the seats :D recaro sounds like the way to go :) or liberty seats. i have a meter long breaker bar haha so the bolts are fairly tight :)

i reckon you should start with the interior :) and go from there, thats what i did. i got the mechanicals going well, did the interior minus the seats, and now im gonna save for the wheels so that i can put the lift in :)

Depends which ones but i think they could defenitly exceed that per seat. :(
They are the apsolute best and unfortuneatly have a price tag to match.

I think it has more to do with condition than anything else. The seats in my Liberty were horrible and my 82 MY wagon has a much better seat, but the Liberty has done twice as many kms. I recently replaced my standard liberty ones with a set of GTB seats in really good nick and they are a huge improvement, but the old MY seats are still more comfortable.
