if i cant figure out my over heating problem, what should i do?

do i rebuild a newly rebuilt motor that got rebuilt last year?
do i put a bigger thermo fan in?
do i put extractors and a webber to make it breathe better?
do i change the motor?
or what else?

the guage says its heating up, but the way it heats up it seems so unlikely, but i dont know wether to trust the guage or not as it did save me from cooking it a month ago when the radiator split.

Whats a thermo fan? is that just the radiator fan? BTW why does a brumby have 2?

mine has two, one electric, and one belt driven, beside eachother in between the radiator and the motor it helps cool the motor down

oh hahaha sorry i mis read, it has two cause the electric one is only meant to come on when it reaches a certain temp, and yes they are the same thing

Many years ago I had a Valiant. Had the same problem. Them days you could get your core cleaned out. They'd take off the tanks and run steel rods down the cores to clean them and reassemble. nothing wrked. Finally got a new core. Problem fixed.

So a new radiator from Ebay?

`never seen a brumby with both electric? not even for sale, that would probably run a lot better
put in a new radiator a month ago and new hoses n thermostat, new water pump last year and belt driven fan

Don't monitor the gauge - is the engine actually overheating? This is your first determinate.

how do i tell if the guage is working correctly, it was two weeks ago?

It comes so ready to run it ain't funny cig lighter plug and just fit sensor under an engine bolt thermostat housing or on head - gives me same readings

I am waiting for TM4 release soon as it will turn relay on/off at selected temps

Ok to clear something up: a Thermo fan is an electric fan that is triggered by a sensor or the ECU (later models) to tun on. The fan run off the fan belt is called a mechanical fan. It's not got the smarts like the thermo fan and thus runs when ever the engine does.

The brumby came out with a thermo and a mechanical fan from the factory unless it is fitted with AC - then it will have two thermo fans that are activated when either the temperature hits a certain value or when the AC is on.

If you're looking at the factory temp gauge this is not an accurate way of doing it - no values on the gauge! Hook up an after market temp gauge that has numbers on it to truly gauge what the temp is doing with your engine. That little unit that Steptoe has posted is pretty simple too, no need to tap a coolant line

engines working? running as it should, it doesnt feel as hot as the guage says it is?

Check the fuses, then if they're all good check the wiring on the cigarette lighter to make sure it's all still connected properly. Also check how dirty the terminals in the bottom of the lighter are, dirty/rusty terminals can cause a massive resistance and thus a non working lighter...

It's the best thing i have ever bought gives you an exact read out and will buzz when it reaches a determine temp
Great when 4wding you don't have to look at the gauge all the time
I only wish i had it when my water pump hose blew and dumped all the water quickly, the gauge didn't go up because there was no water to read and i cooked the motor:mad:
This reads the block or heads temp no water
