(Wrong forum?) EOI - What's my wagon worth?

G'day all. As above, I am not 100% sure where this should go, feel free to correct me.

So due to lifestyle changes, the Scoobie might have to go to make way for a better and more sensible vehicle. It's not on the market as yet, but I'd like to know what it is worth. I rarely see wagons for sale, but have seen quite regularly a lot of Brumby's in worse condition than the wagon getting sold within a week of being advertised in the local rag.

The car has just under 221,000 km's on the clock, and the whole vehicle is as stock as. It's a white MY wagon, EA81, 4-speed Manual.

It's got 3 spare wheels, all stock steel rims, and 5 of the wheels have Bridgestone Turanza AR-10 tyres fitted that have never seen a drive on the open road (but the occasional short drive on PRIVATE PROPERTY).

It's got the usual suspects, a cracked front windscreen and slight rust in the bottom passengers side, but does not leak at all. There are no cracked lights, and all the electrics work perfectly. No stereo/door speakers. When it was still in rego when I got it, it had no trouble keeping up with the olds '10 Outback Diesel on-road (which has never ever had a single issue with "The Shudder", don't know how people must be driving these) and flies past it on the dirt, grass, mud and anything else. It handles like it's on rails, but that must be a common Subaru thing.

TIA and cheers, Mick.

PS - there's a thread with some pics, somewhere...

Your build thread: http://www.ausubaru.com.au/showthread.php?t=17577

You don't see them for sale because they are worth so little there isn't much point selling them. Sorry to say you might get something in the vacinity of $500-1000 for it if you are lucky. They don't come anywhere near Brumby's in terms of price which can do better than older Liberty's.

From the pics it's a nice looking example, tuck it away in a shed i reckon. Nothing wrong with collecting old Subarus, i've got 3!

I totally agree Venom, and thanks for the timely reply. But, I, as an 18 y/o, apprentice and P-plater, it isn't practical in any way to keep it and fork out for a place to park it safely. And I already have an am driving the other one. A 1999 Toyota Vienta Grande, V6. AKA the "Limo".

Damn! I was looking for one a few weeks ago! If I had a shed, I'd fill it up with MY's, I reckon.

Mick, Just list it for sale, put ya price on it and see what happens.
It is a nice clean tidy 4WD wagon. Ebay will probably get you the best advertising coverage.

Would agree with ebay - never know your luck. Or maybe Gumtree - I recall someone posting that is where the backpackers buy their cars from - being 4WD, could be used to outrun John Jarret, so maybe market it as a 'round Australia vehicle??

Put a reserve of $300 and see how you go. Places like U-Pull-It would pay <$100 for it.
