I had really bad leaks around the door rubbers before I realised Tweety doesnt have any actual doors......

My gf & I gave my Foz & her Beetle a long overdue wash n wax :D Mine was covered in mud, hers in insect poo!

Yep, today I bought (2) sets of these off ebay for, basically, $55 a set (free post)
This gives me a total of 6 metres worth of flares at a reasonable price.
I figure these are half way between the Clark rubber and the Bushranger flares so will give them a go.
I have confirmation from the supplier that the 35mm is the distance between the base of the shark fin on the top of the flare to where the bulb starts on the outer edge.
They also extend the guards by 40 to 50mm which hopefully wont be too much. Apparently, this distance depends on how hard you push the flare against the guard when you attach them. The flares also screw to the lip under the guard and not on the outside of the guard.

Well aint done much to our free L series but today drivin down the freeway in my work van heard a bit of squeaking, anyway got to the job alright then at midday decided the worm were biting so headed off to lunch only to find going around the second corner the van cut out. Noway would it kick into life and had plenty of spark too. My mate came around and I had the dizzy cap off so I asked him to crank it over only to find the dizzy not rotating. A quick call to Uncle Bob from MTS and tomorrow the van is coming back up the hill the easy way (on the back of a tilt tray) then the investagation begins. Anyway rang the missus and got her to pick me up in the subi and I filled it up at 164.9 a litre so I suppose I did do something for the subi today as it will be my new work car until the van is fixed.

Geez mate, I really think you should have had the beetle in front of the foz where it could really shine! It's pretty neck and neck competition between the two I reckon.

Not too much damage, but will need new bumber bar and tow bar too. Oh well, what do you do?

Well the van is still off the road so been using the Subi and gotta say I did miss driving one as the feeling of going up the expressway hill in Adelaide fully loaded doing 100K and the Subi just feels such a smooth ride. The only shame it aint big enough to carry all my gear as it did take 3 trips to get it all home.

Anyway work done, traced the problem why the spotties didn't work and now on the open road driving at night the Roo's may need some sun glass's as the road in front is like daylight. Also thinking of putting my spare spotty on the rear mainly for reversing on the farm at night but also a great 'bastard' light for those tailgating wankers......

Given the Brumby was starting to repeat the symptoms of 18 months ago of an ignition module on its death bed (intermittent flat spots under load) decided high time to actually replace it with the new one I have been carrying about last year or more. First had an emergency fix 18 months ago with a used L Series dizzy sourced module - it's the one playing up now. Fitted the new one with minimal tools - the double ended screwdriver in the little bag from Subaru - only needed one flat blade to prise rotor off!

Done at a time convenient to me, not convenient for it to sh1t1tself

While there I also fitted a new Bosch coil BIC290? an oil filled jobbie I bought in 98/99 for my first Brumby, never fitted it coz utes problem was cruddy fuel line internals, and by time I found problem had spent enough on it - fuel filters, carby overhaul, new fuel pump, plugs, leads, rotor, cap - all this after the previous owner had dizzy overhauled - reason they sold I suspected.

Going like a new Brumby :)

Nice one Subaruby - Personally I love a good set of auxiliary driving lights - they add that bit of extra light out there that makes the diffference!

New zorst on the vortex. Gotta take it back in on Monday to get the headers replaced. 2" cat back with a pretty much stock muffler. Wanted it as quiet as possible ;).

Exhaust Sound drives me nuts ;). Old pipe pretty much finished at the cat. More bottom end torque now and it doesnt feel like my heads going to explode when the tacho hits 5k. still enough note there to label it a subaru. Now just gotta fix that wheel bearing :rolleyes:

It was funny to, shop called me up and says " Doug, your monster subaru is ready" :twisted:.
