I bought one of these off ebay for about the same price, it uses suction cups to stick on your roof, works a treat and its waterproof.

Today i put my car on jacks so i could fit a file between the rear tyres and the guards and file the inside of the guards down to stop my tyres rubbing:p Also jacked it to the height it should sit when it gets lifted next week to see how it will look and see if lifting will prevent the tyre scrub, hopefully it does:p

Hey revmax, that's interesting what material are the discs made of? Just curious since I doubt it would be plain MS.

Today I pulled my front seats out so I could fit some new covers properly. They are L touring wagon seats so there's not much room to move around them in the car  Decided to give it a vacuum while I was there, and fix down the dash mat and floor mats properly. Then replaced all the old vacuum lines under the bonnet, found I have a gaping hole in an inner CV boot :???: and the top rad hose leaks because the t/stat housing looks like the surface of the moon (cratered and rough as)

Might need a new fuel pump too soon.
Will it ever end!?

Brake discs are Cast Iron.
I machined the dics from the Brumby I recently wrecked, Blasted the wheel hubs and disck hubs then gave them a quick coat of sattin black.
so when I changed the discs over it whas a quick changeover. I will machine the discs that came off so they can be fitted quickly if ever need be .

Finally got some H4's for the Brumby. $15 from the trash & treasure market for the pair, WITH globes. Fitting them took about 1/2 an hour, it's a bitch to fit the connector on the pass-side as it doesn't clear the air-con condensor unless you have the light half out of the socket. Stupid design... Get to give them a try tonight :)

done some blasting and prepin of the front guards , bonnet and grill for my Brum. more work on these pannels tomorrow. Had to stop cause I wore out my last blasting nozzle and gunna try some ceramic ones tomorrow, Hope gasweld has some.
OH BTW I bougth a 3HP 346LPM air compressor from gasweld and now my blast nozzles only last a little over 30minuets.

I have decided to fix this bonnet. Blasting the underside to remove the resprayed acrilic paint which is coming off pretty easy anyway. If i dont remove it it will peal whan I spray the 2pack. I can rub the top surface back pretty easy with my little orbital sander.
One of the front guards I got off Gannon the other from a wreck, they will both get rubbed back but one needs some welding first.

Nice revmax. Could you give us details (in a separate thread) about your home made sand blaster and how to make one? That would be super!

Cheers

We put some Michelin's on the XT Forester not long ago. Too new to have formed an opinion on them at this stage, but they seem to be quiet and wet weather grip appears OK. They replaced the Bridgestone Potenza's, which were a very good tyre. We got about 55k kms from them - much better than the Yoko Geolanders that came with the car - they needed to be replaced at approx 31k kms.

Brum is getting a Bar.
Roll bar that is.
Picked up a 3inch alloy roll bar today and some extra sunrasia rims.
The bar needs a good rub back, holes welded up and a polish, I may even 2pack clear coat it.

BTW went for a Drive to Taree today and back 472km on 32.3l = 14.6km/L (FAR OUT)
