I fitted some bigger front shockies to level out my L series and continued designing my rear tyre carrier/rear bar. Lifted the front from 720mm from ground to top of wheel arch to 790mm. But the back is 780mm and also found the rear shockie bottom bush is flogged out making the tyre rub on the spring.. fix one thing and find another!

You'll also find that the wheel arches front to rear are at different heights too - the rear one being lower than the front - not always a good comparison to go by...

Oh, and I put some mud on Ruby Scoo yesterday, even got some water inside the passenger's footwell due to dodgy door seals :(

Well today I fitted a new accelerator cable that I purchased off "FROG" here on the forum. And what a difference it has made. I now get sharper acceleration response and it returns the RPM back to idle straight away. Absolutely fantastic. It feels like a new car almost, it's quite the little buzz box. Ha ha

And while I'm at it , for any of you who don't know or are unsure , FROG is a top bloke to deal with when it comes to ordering parts. He made the whole event of ordering a breeze. You know what the price is, item comes exactly as described , and he keeps in contact with you the whole way through ( if only everyone you purchased off was like him) .

Thanks Andy, I'll buy from you again mate!

My CD player in my Sony headunit would not play a disc.
It's been getting dull only listening to the radio on long drives.

So I bought a new unit from Pioneer.
Its the "DEH-6350SD" model.

Has power output of 50W for 4 channels
and can accept CD's, MP3's, WMA's (what are they?), USB's, SD cards and has an audio jack for MP3/iPod players
So I have now have 6 ways to put my own music into my soobie. :D

They gave me a package price on a pair of speakers to go with my unit.
They're pretty flash for 6-inchers imho; from Alpine with separate tweeters in front. :)
I needed some as their are holes cut in the middle doors for speakers
just sitting empty at the moment.

I made Donk switch to "low-carb" beer.

Donk loves full-bodied lagers, ales and stouts
has his happiest moments drinking them
but generally suffers from indigestion.

^^ Fuel economy comparing 91 octane vs. 95 & 98 ;)

My last tank on 98 I got around 10.3L/100km,
(driving a bit norty, but even at cruise Donk was thirstier)
95 I got 9.5L/100km, even though I was driving as if I had detonation-prone91.
So far I have 250km on the trip odo and I haven't even reached the half-tank mark.

My EA82 needs 98 octane to be able to handle 105km/h in 3rd,
(I've had it at 115km/h in 3rd on 98; EA82 happy as a clam )
it even complains on 95 octane, once I pass 100km/h in 3rd
(owners manual says up to 120km/h should be fine in 3rd)
but its performance is poor with my new spark plugs (gap difference?)
So it would needed to be tuned better for 98 to make buying 98 worth it.

the holes are way to big to weld up, I may have to cut the bottom of a dinted guard and weld a new bottom on, not sure yet cause my gassless mig welder is crap.
OH bTW I had 4 chepie air compressors running flat maggot to do the blasing today.

Finished putting in a cargo barrier today...not as easy as i thought it would be. Had to modify the steel braces to make em fit. Its not pretty & maybe not fully legal but its solid & will keep saws/tools etc out of my skull in the event of an accident!
