Ah ha, now we know why and what for for someone was looking for a Vortex a little while ago for a TV advert !
uploaded by Subaru Australia on 20 Dec, we are a bit slow on the uptake . Now, should we all ask when the ute version comes out

I saw an SVX, but were was the vortex? I also failed to see an RX, which should have been mandatory seeing there were a few WRX's

Awesome ad! Love that there is some actual offroading footage of sorts with some decent climb (not just driving in a flat "outback" area). Nice to see the brumby in there too.

Owned a few of the models shown & was taught to drive in a 2WD L series. I think I almost got emotional when I watched it.
Great ad.

Subaru 360, 2 cylinder 2 stroke engine from the 60's. They also did a 360 van with the same engine, an absolutely micro van

Probably a rip of the 2 cylinder VW that never got into production, same drive train layout too. I'm not sure if the 360 had the engine in the front or the rear... Either way, the early subaru drive train strongly resembles that of the VW, just 180 degrees opposite.
Cheers

You could be right Bennie, I never thought of that though

The engine was in the back like a VW, never heard of a 2 cyl VW though?

Funny lil car. Looks more like a beetle than a VW beetle lol
Bet its collectible now...I wonder if FHI have one in their museum next to an STi hehe
