As a replacement?
Gen 1 brumby had an EA71 1.6L?
Gen 2 brumby had an EA81 1.8L
Gen 2 is from 80 onwards I think.
EA81 is a good engine, OHV, pushrod, no timing belts.
Or you can upgrade to an EJ Series engine.
Gearbox. Standard was a 4 speed, 4wd box. ( fwd, 4hi, 4lo)
Or you could put in an l series 5 speed, also 4wd I think.
Or an EJ 5-6 speed. 6 speed is STi.
Hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions.
Cheers Cam
