Post by joffa81 » Sat Jun 23, 2012 4:34 pm

hi guys my brumby stopped going awhile ago i thought it was the ignition moduel. i replaced that but pulled the dizzy out i never marked anything to put it back together so i understand it will be out of timing pretty bad.still wont start i put a new coil in and have noticed the rotor button has a crack in it, would this prevent spark and stop brumby from cranking into life

Guess you need to check all the things before the dizzy went in.

Get it on TDC of #1 and show us how the rotor looks

Pull ur plugs out, put them in ur leads, earth them against the motor whilst turning it over to see if it's got spark also check the points..

electronic system you need to line up the marks on the fly wheel -10 dig top dead centre look to see if the rotor button is lined up with the number one lead on the dizzy cap adjust till the electronic pins are alined by moving the dizzy left or right, then with a timing light check to see if spark it should flash if so check the timing ailinement. I have just gone through this myself after buying a brumby with no dizzy trying to get one with points to work on it then going to electronic dizzy.
