Cheers Jonno, I didn't know I was still up there. I would have figured you guys would have knocked me off that well and truly by now!

As well this site looks to be dedicated to BRZ performance modifications as well

http://www.modifiedbrz.com/forum/brz-performance/

and Youtube has videos of turbocharged BRZs in action (pity about the finger on the camera lense)

TOONGA
Castle Hill Performance have turbocharged an 86 with impressive results, and also Bullet are developing a supercharger kit too. The Raptor one looks the goods though doesn't it!

I think I'll be waiting before going forced induction.

The BRZ and the 86 start on ebay for AU $31 .50 + $12 50 postage so really no cheaper.

gees, just entered brz BRZ in the search any date and came up with nothing until I added toyota 86 :(

I thought I'd come up behind a secret Subaru on a test drive as i came behind this blue thing that looked a bit um...Supra-ish , got excited :) then realised this was the arse end of the Subaru BRZ. Never seen their backside before. I'd ask for orange external blinker lenses for starters. It was poking along OK in front of my EA82T , but no noise, not like the Toyota I heard a few months back -may have been the rally tuned one I've heard of, gaining less than 10kW from a new exhaust !

Anyway, let's see if the search funktion works now ......

BOTH CARS have what the yota dealer described as an exhaust vent.
I call it an old mans exhaust.
Basically the car makes no noise.
But what noise is made is vented into the cabin.
That way you, your wife, and your kids, who have since amputated their legs to sit in the car,can hear the exhaust.

First thing I would do is take it to S&J and get an ECUTEK and exhaust package.

Cheers Cam

Mine is due to arrive in May , but i can't see how those prius tyres in the review have any grip , because they are designed for low rolling resistance and economy.
There are much grippier performance tyres on the market .

Watch the top gear review.
You slide around corners, not turn.

I thought that was the whole point of a BRZ? :D

I got all excited today when I saw a vague profile of one in traffic today, then was sad when I realised it was an 86. :(

It got me thinking about comparing the two other than spec/trim levels constantly mentioned in reviews.

I found this article if anyone wants to read it (on the 86) http://www.topgear.com/au/photos/14-lit ... ?imageNo=0

If Tim (or any other BRZ owners) could comment on any differences or styling he's seen in his wonderful machine I'd be stoked.

They're just so pretty. I want a poster.

The brz has 10% stiffer front springs and different shock absorber settings to the 86.
The 86 has been set up for drifting.
The brz is more of a track car and is more stable.(except for the stock tyres).

Fast lane daily posted a you tube video 2 days ago about the 2014 wrx powered turbo brz.
The engine is changed to a wrx engine with 280hp and 250lbft.
What is this in kw and nm ?

Oh wow! They do look good with the top down! I wonder how good they look with the top on??

I dare say that subaru will do the same! It might take them a year longer though...

Cheers

My work mate got his 86 on thursday after a 236day wait, took me for a drive on friday and I'm into it aye!
Only criticisms I have are:
1) The gay 'noise maker' that toyota fit, which is basically a hose from the intake hose that runs into the cabin so you can hear the FA20 gulp its air down.
2) The fact that they are now not supplied with a spare wheel at all, but a can of goo and a 12v compressor.
I dont think either of these are an issue with the subie version though.
The engine has a little more valve train chatter than I expected but I guess that's to be expected with solid lifters and 0w20 oil...
I guess only time will tell how they go when they loosen up a bit
I'll defiantely have to make some room in the garage for one in the future:cool:
The trading corner : the stuff that I need ATM -
# Vortex Main Dash Surround / Bezel ANY COLOUR,
# Vortex Radio, # RHD Vortex 4speed auto digital dash,
# RH-Side parking (86+) Vortex wiper transmission,
# EA82 AWD 4EAT,
If you have them please PM me
