Mums 99 RX Wagon - 14000 k's on the clock

Hi,

The old cheese (all respect to me Mam) has offered her Subie RX wagon for nix. Colour is WRX blue. Condition is mint. Always garaged, serviced religiously and driven (mostly) carefully as a mature driver can. So far as I know everything is original except tyres. Absolutely no rust.

I need to get it from Tas to WA by plane (read truck) trains or auto (drive).

As noted it has 14000k's on the clock and one careful driver (except when borrowed by number 1 son for a blat up Tassies coasts once or twice a year).

How much for an item like this? I'd like to grab it but have to cover the cost of getting it over here. I'd like to keep it for a few years at least and then maybe sell.

Good question! How long's a piece of string? And don't go giving me the algebra answer to that one!

Best to search around for some transport companies that are Oz wide and see what they come up with

Funny how a 13 year old car is worth much the same as any 13 year old car of same breed/model etc. Funny how if someone is to buy don't wanna pay any more for the low kilometres because it is age that affects things like hoses, seals, radiator tanks etc not the actual distance. Then it is funny how once a car is over the 100,000km mark it is also not worth as much as one the same with lower k's on it.
It is probably worth whatever a 99 RX is worth on average, but worth more to you coz you know the owner. What'sit gonna be worth once you have finished with it ?

Do you give your mum a free flight from Perth WA to Perth Tas and tempt her to drive it over as carefully as she has driven it before ??
