QLD Inspection/RWC Question

Hey guys,
so i'm looking at buying a used vehicle, the owner and I took it to a RACQ inspection station to get a safety certificate and it failed, barely.

my question is, can i take it to a DIFFERENT place that might not be so tedius and picky in issuing the safety certificate, or do i have to return to the RACQ that did the original inspection?

is it linked to the VIN or REGO of the vehicle somehow?

also, any mechanics here that can help me out with this?
it was so close to passing!

You will have to back to them or you will have to pay again if you go to another mechanic.
I don't know if they are linked

If it barely passed it cant cost too much to fix the issues right? Post a list and Im sure you will get assistance and advice.

They are not linked.
Fix the issue or take it to another mechanic.
you do not have to return it to the same mechanic.

I can tell you that in other states , non return fails are returned to the authority - yet nothing seems to be actioned - done it myself, went from a dimwit that was highly respeced * COUGH, COUGH ** . Failed me on the Brumby suspension travel - bump stops at 17mm - factory 20mm , a 1/3 reduction on 20mm is permitted. He interpreted the 100mm undrbody clearance as bump stop clearance - would not enter into the debate when I returned with fact he could not understand. Went to another inspector explained situation, paid my inspection fee to him as well, passed no wuckers. Since built up a business to reduce sh!theads work load competing directly with him :)
