Post by brado » Thu Nov 08, 2012 2:56 pm

Hi...Does anyone know what parts off a 87 L series will fit into either my 87 or 84 Brumby...I have a good L series but was thinking of giving it away ..just would rather take the parts if they work in the brumby..i.e Alt,starter....radiator..cheers..

Interior light lens.

Yes, other parts fit but no net gain.
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.
Contact me for reproduction XT6 hubs...and EA82 rear discs.

Diff hanger will not fit, the "L" series is longer... I found out the hard way.

I know someone who did L seats into a Brumby and if it was too difficult at that stage in life, he would have thrown spanners, a tantrum, taught the neighbours more four letter words and likely left rubber up the driveway soon after. They went in OK, Mazda 626 1990 seats are a different story - I know from experience and two years of determination

When I first joined this forum (when the six star badged appeared on dinosaurs) there was talk of the EA82 dizzy mod to fit EA81 to get e instead of points

There are EA81 units out there with the electronic module, but you can fit the EA82 dizzy with some mods - Tweety's just done this from what I've read on this supercharger mod thread ;)

Cheers
