Do some L Series parts fit Foresters

Post by penguin » Wed Feb 20, 2013 8:31 am

I think our old L Series is sold. We have a shed full of parts that we will then also get rid of. But before sending them on their way, do any of the L series running gear or suspension bits for a 1991 L fit a 2000 Forester (standard model) ???????

Bearings, tie rods, ball joints, drive shafts, cv's, doj's, rubber boots for cv's barke calipers ??

Any insight appreciated.

Like Alex so nicely put it, I also can not think of anything that might be the same.

Time to posts some for sale threads I feel

For Sale notices on the way.

It is actually nice to clean it out, some of the spares were a once is a 30 year event spare and just did not want to part with them as you know Murpheys law.

The partner is also :) about the clean out.

Perhaps someone will swap some forester parts for a trailer load of L series parts.

The only one thing I can think of is the rear diff which is same housing as Forester! except the flange and the cover bolts.. That is all!

Do not forget...

Pedal rubbers - did not change from 1979-2011

The rubber boots for the interior light switches in the door frames - same duration, if not longer?

Saw the old car off yesterday, it is headed for the "shitbox rally", a charity event from Sydney to Perth in May, apparently it is going to be painted all over with daffodils :)

Lots of subies in it apparently.

Gave them some of the spares for the journey.

I'll keep an eye out for it when it gets over here

That's a very cool rally and for a great cause. Would be awesome to do one time.. looks like they have a lot of fun
