Hey Guys,

I want to replace the Gas struts for the touring wagon as it no longer holds the tailgate up (found that out the hard way Ouch!!). I found they are different to a normal wagon and the mobile strut guy couldnt do anything for me.

I called sun Spares and they had none either.

I called subaru and got the following part numbers:

RH side: 60107GA450
LH side: 60107GA460

But they said they are no long avalible, has anyone got any suggestions??

Cheers
Troy

You can get them re-gassed as well, usually cheaper than new units!

I scored a set from a wreckers - they're that good that you get the rear door open to about 40ish degrees (window angle) and the struts do the rest from there! It will hit you in the head if you're not careful!

And I wouldn't have them any other way!

Well the arrived on Tuesday and fitted perfectly :)

To regas them was going to be $60 and no guarantee that the seals would hold or for $20 more I got the new ones delivered to my door

There's a place in Dandenong called Mc Naughtons, they sell struts cheap and they can adjust the pressure in them while you wait. They have a range of sizes and different ends to suit many applications.
I've bought them for other uses, never needed one to suit a Subie yet, I've still got spares:)
