Hey guys, does anyone know/or work at a Subaru Dealership in Victoria [Melb region]...or alternatively, know how much an 'SRS inspection and report' will cost [when they hook up an OBD cable]? I have to get one for a VIV [which is a load of Bollocks, but I was silly enough to show photos of the interior *only carpet and seats* removed whilst being cleaned], hence, this is defined as dismantling and could've affected the SRS; "yeah, right!"]...anyhow, I'm just after a heads-up on cost, since last time I tried my local dealer - who were going to charge me squillions for a part Frog could get for a couple of dollars - i'm a little gun-shy. Any thoughts, help, suggestions very much appreciated - Cheers Peter

If there is any faults with the 'srs' system, the airbag light will show up. If the airbag light isnt on, there wont be any faults worth recording with the obd2 thingy

Exactly mate! But try and tell the *the nice fellow* who did the inspection; 'so frustrated!' As it costs/takes me quite a while to drive backwards and forwards for such nonsense. Anyhow, does anyone know how much it's going to cost?

Hey guys, it's going to cost $137.50 - which is a lot better than $540-700 for a full dismantle inspection as quoted in Melbourne. WOW??!! Anyhow, I can *somewhat* live with that - but as described to me by a Subaru Rep - "...we're going to try and prove you can resuscitate someone whilst they are still breathing? You do realize this is pointless..." To which I replied, yep! But book me in :( Thanks guys.

Yeah, got it sorted - what a waste of time and money. Took them 10m, then I waited around *for no apparent reason, other than to increase the hourly rate/time to justify $137.50* ...in the end, it was a 'means to an end'. So we got the car on the road [...so good to return the car we've been borrowing] - and she drives/behaves like a dream [typical Subee ;) ] -- the misses loves her new['ish] car. Now I just have to finish rebuilding my one *cough - 2.5y later* and the world can resume spinning ;) THanks for the support guys, cheers Peter

Wow, I didn't know VIV's go THAT far! That's insane.

I had bean counters - their good ideas make life more difficult for us :(

Cheers
