Replacement Brumby fenders / tailgate

Post by 1111giles » Sat Aug 10, 2013 7:07 am

Howdy to all my buddies in Ozland.
We've been a bit busy here in the UK and can now supply much needed replacement front fenders, front valence (skirt) and now tailgate outer skins.
All these high quality parts are patterned from GENUINE ORIGINAL SUBARU panels, and the casting moulds have been produced by one of the UK's leading GRP specialists. The fit and finish is better than excellent !!
I've posted below a direct link to the thread on http://www.mvbrumbybrat.co.uk forum and it should take you to the page which shows the images of the parts.
If you want some of these parts then possibly Paul RSR555 can help (he doesnt know this yet though !!) or possibly uncle 'frog'. Getting the shipping and quantitys right will ensure an affordable price on your side of the world.

Check out this link ;)

Excellent! :D I was thinking of contacting you about getting a pair of fenders, we hadn't heard anything for a while I thought maybe the project was deemed "too hard"

To Paul or Andy (frog) or anyone else thinking of shipping some over, put me on the list for a pair. Best get the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

You've achieved an amazing task Giles, sincerely thankyou for all the effort you've put in :)

Yep would love a set of the fenders as well, they look like the original panels in the photos ... I just need a sponsor :(

or a win in lotto tonight :)

as I understand it,the skin bonds onto the existing tailgate. so as long as you have enough tailgate left it hides the mess :)

Guys - talk sweetly to Paul and Frog ;)
The parts are all cast from moulds which have been made from spanking brand new ORIGINAL SUBARU panels so are visually identical. The thickness of course is bigger than the originals but this in no way hinders or spoils the fitting or looks once fitted.

I'm more than happy to ship out any number of these items to you guys, but it will really need for it to be economic, one or a couple of you to cover east and western Australia from a carrage point of view.

As for the inner mess of a original tailgate panel - most of this of course would be hidden if patched or repaired, my next project will be to copy the inner side in steel (for functional strength) the inner face will most likely be flat and wont have the pressing indents - these are there for strenght - so we'll get round this by using thicker steel gauge and possibly inner webbing so no functuality will be lost.

Of course I will keep you posted - and thanks for the encouraging comments guys :D

Haven't heard from Paul in ages... If someone does, let him know I'm still chasing my brakes parts/done!?!

I like this idea though... Where are these being made?? I'm in Dorset right now... Heading to London for Friday/Saturday...

Halifax is where they are being made, they would be very light to carry on a plane and TNT carrier would get you one overnight to any chosen address in the UK.
call me on 07800 684638 if your up for one but be quick !!

Make it 2 - he has to bring one back for me ;)

But seriously - I would be keen for a tailgate skin - we need to start a register and see who wants what and where in Oz they are to see how much they will cost.

Do you have the UK price for them yet ??

Individual prices for the skins are £85 plus uk vat each plus carrage (£15 covers anywhere in the UK)
Of course no vat if going for export :D
If there was a number to sell in one hit then I will look at the prices a little bit. They would be really easy to pack for export - or could become part of a shipment I know about thats going to Perth one day........ soon .........PAUL come in PAUL calling PAUL !!!
Can you guys shout him as well please :D

85 pounds sounds reasonable - I will definitely be up for one, maybe 2.
I have sent an email to Paul requesting he joins the conversation :)

Do they pack easily/safely onto a pallet? Thinking if we shipped over a pallet load it would be easy to ship it here and then we'd distribute them separately via the forum. I'm not after a tailgate skin at this stage, just R and L fenders.

Yes the parts would pack easily and safely onto a pallet, and I have facilitys here to do this.
I am aware of a shipment heading to Perth docks at some point in the future and if things could be tied in then this would make for the perfect opportunity to get a quantity out to you guys and the economics of combining the shipment would be to your massive advantage.

I need to speak to Paul to try and get him involved - can you guys wake him up ?
