I've seen this car for sale a since 2011 down my area, I have to admit the interior looks brand new and there are no running issues :) I'm pretty sure its not an ex cop car, its proberly a sales pitch to try and get rid of it hahahahha

It might have been for a trail 'evaluation' in use or as a daily runabout ... :p

I know they do have later model Impreza's currently in use ... ;)

P.S. - not all VicPol cars are 'marked' ... ! ... learnt that the hard way ... :)

Cheers, Bantum ...

they've certainly spent a LOT of money on it but I'm not sure how collectible it is??? & I dont think the Vic police have ever used a Vortex, esp not a 3spd auto non-turbo

Does look a bit dodgy... Those pics are definitely of two different cars, the pedals and seat covers are different as well as the stereo, and the steering wheel has turned 90degrees.
The police in Dunedin NZ have an unmarked beige diesel Holden Cruze...

and the blue headlight switch, corr Bantum you are a sharp eyed dude !

Looks suss in that it is private seller yet sits happily in what looks like a used car yard in the other pics

A mate remembers the Vortex as the car claimed in news many years ago as being the fastest recorded speed of an offender caught on the highway in NSW - at the time. They caught it so must not be fastest lost sight of :)

I wonder if nobody noticed the EA82 that this Vortex / XT4 have,

is the Rare MPFi one, (Multi Point Fuel Injection) found on Early Production Models; One Injector per Cylinder,

not the "Standard" Single Point EFi EA82 which Features Throttle Body Injection (TBi) Known as SPFi.

Those MPFi EA82's are Scarse, and is weird to see one of Those Without A/C.

Kind Regards.

Not rare here in Oz, mpfi is all the injection EA82 ever got as far as we know :)

I think we would have appreciated the spfi EA82 so there would be some EA81 modification options !

Good to Know, so the MPFi was Rare for the USDM (USA Domestic Market)

and LADM (Latin American Domestic Market)

it was sold on early models only ('85 ~ '86)

After that, all came here with SPFi.

Kind Regards.

Yes, many people retrofit the EA82's SPFi intake manifolds with Throttle Body injection,

on EA81's with slight modifications, in order to gain EFi advantages on EA81's.

Kind Regards.
