hi all, the on dash temp display is no longer accurate, is this normally a ambient sensor problem?

Thanks for the response, and yes i know where the sensor is. Upon further investigation when the ignition is turned on it shows the correct temperature, eg 29Degrees yesterday, but when the engine is started it shows 18 degrees immediately, and stays there, which i guess rules out the sensor?Gannon wrote:How inaccurate? A few degrees out all the time?, random temperatures?
The sensor is located in front of the radiator and thus when parked in traffic will read higher because it will be getting hot air from the engine
