Is the Brumby ever coming back ...

Post by Bantum » Sat Mar 22, 2014 3:00 am

Well Subaru Australia doesn't seem to think so :
Is the Brumby ever coming back ?

The Brumby is a proud part of Subaru's history and has been a vital part in building our brand into what it is today. Unfortunately however, it is not coming back.

Thank you for yor feedback!
Seems a fairly defined no, but we should pass it on to Japan ... :)

The brumby has an ANCAP rating of 1. Subaru Australia would not release a brumby again for that reason. how ever a utility that meets todays standards could be released if Subaru Japan saw a need ... which they don't :(

Perhaps we should rephrase this question in light of my proposal for a Ute - Based on the XV - and say : Will there be a new Subaru Ute ?

As much as I would love a little Subaru ute to be launched, I think there's no hope in the short and mid term.

Bigger utes from Thailand are extremely affordable so the market for a little AWD ute would be very small.

I'd like a light weight 4wd ute , full size tray that 's NOT half a truck.

I don't think they'll ever make another ute, just doesn't seem to fit in with their current demo. There may be plenty of people in Australia that want them to make one but it would never be enough for them to seriously consider it, market just too small.

And with the recent explosion of twin cab utes (I call them monster trucks) popularity the market would be even smaller.
Will it ever end!?
