I've seen plenty of those stickers on the NSW QLD border on 'utility' vehicles with 1 inch of ground clearance.

Logos Variations ...

Post by Bantum » Fri May 16, 2014 3:36 am

OK - Finally got 'round to finishing this :

Image

With some variations to suit 900 x 80 mm front windscreen ... there should be at least one among that lot to suit ... :)

Let us know your preferred option ( ie: Banner with Eruostile Bold Ex ) + if you want a specific file format ( Eg: jpg, PDF etc.)
and send in an e-mail ( bantum69 at hotmail.com ) to me, then I can flip it back to you with attachment ... :)

( Note : It will be a largish file - ready for printing + also remove 'at' in address above & replace with @ to e-mail )

Add : That also applies to the other badges ( can add your state emblem ) + Side banner done earlier ...

Then you can get it printed out at your local ...

Note : I still haven't found the text font that the 'Backyardboys' used though ... :(

Found ...

Post by Bantum » Fri May 16, 2014 1:47 pm

Ok - I think have found it ... It's called : Fat Rhino Regular - Which can also found here : http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/pink-broccoli/fat-rhino/

It's not free though, So Someone has to Buy it ... :(

Add : ie: it's the closet match I found to the original text - have since found out that the original text may have been fudged with W used as M ... :???:

The closest match I can get Free is : ComicsCarToon Regular

Will have to do if your not fussed ...

Another font spot to checkout is : fontspace

Type in a sample of your text & browse to see what you like ... :)

( Note : You can forward the font you want to me & I can get it into the banner format if you like )

Ciao, Bantum ...

This could be awkward if you came in at the wrong moment on the conversation.

I think one of the reasons why we've been able to keep the subaru in our web address is that the owners argued it's AUS-ubaru.com - Subaru did a big "clean up" of un-licenced use of their name to help keep track of where their name is exactly etc. I'm 99% sure this applied to forums as well. I'd rather not advertise it with a two colour effect.

That said, "If we can't get Boink" I like the last one you've posted in that line up ;)

How much does a font cost anyway?

Using this site http://www.whatfontis.com/ I was able to determine (on the 13th of May) the font is Boink which does look very similar to rhino :)

Good point - Although its easy enough just to print in one colour - if that's your thing ... :)
El_Freddo wrote: That said, "If we can't get Boink" ...
Although I'm pretty sure 'Fat Rhino' is the one we want, if we can find the one that matches without having to use differing fonts would be good ... ;)

This 'Comic' one will have to do for now :

Image

Note : I've used combination of fonts to get the effect above ... ;)
El_Freddo wrote: How much does a font cost anyway ?
Varies - depends on which site you go to ( Approx. $15 to $30 ) So if you really want it - buy one & send a copy to me ... :p
El_Freddo wrote: I like the last one you've posted in that line up ...
Here ya go :

Image

Note : On closer inspection the edges of text are all fuzzy, not sure if you want that effect or not ... Johnny - I will get a .PSD file of it up shortly ( Need to convert it ) ... ;)

I was going off the original sticker which is Boink not fat rhino

Image

Fat Rhino is further away from it than the "comic" one which is nearly the same apart from the bottom of the "O" and the shape of the "C"

Fat rhino

Image

The Original sticker uses a "W" as an "M" in ".com".

Boinked ...

Post by Bantum » Fri May 16, 2014 10:08 pm

Ah, well there ya go - we trying to match a non existent font ... Ha ... :p

Ok - I will have a go at the 'Boink' & see how close it is ... :p

Ended up combining them to get this :

Image

A, C & O are in Boink, the rest of text is in Comic font. + the last letter M is a Rotated W & Reversed ...

That's as close as your goanna get ... :p

I used a mixture of BOINK and COMIC to get this as well I used an inverted w to make the "M"
