Brumby Water Pump
Brumby Water Pump
Checked with Ebay for a Gates Water pump for Brumby. Found one they want $60.00. Went to Rockauto USA and they sell a Gates Water pump for 87 Brat/Brumby for $19.00 - BUT killer is import but still cheaper than Australia and comes up at $55.00---So who is ripping us off. If ure a Yank u can get a Gates Water Pump for $19.00. Remember that if u are looking for SUBARU BRUMBY Parts in USA its 1987 SUBARU BRAT. That is the last date in USA for Brat/Brumby.

Saving $5 can depend on a few things - time frame is a huge one! If you need the part just pay the local price.
The real savings that used to be had have been lost since our dollar has bottomed out against the USD
It was awesome getting parts from the states when we were worth more than their dollar!
Even at ~94c to their dollar it's well worth the effort if you can afford to wait for the parts to arrive.
Cheers

just be aware that there are 2 types of pump, the distance between the front of the pulley flange and the rear face can differ by about 6mm to 10mm, makes it hard to fit if they don't match.
for information I have water pump off a ea82, only ran about 2000k before the motor died so like new, $20 plus postage if you want it but measure the distance as above

^ I think you're confusing the EA82 water pumps Tony.
Gazza, have a go at this one, seems reasonable. I've not read the description as to why it's so cheap... it should save you more money than importing from the US.

Yea $10 sounds cheap . You have trouble buying parts for Brumby's in Australia but when u have look at the ROCKAUTO site in USA under Brat which is the same as Brumby you see just so many parts. Remember BRAT terminated in the USA in 1987 so u have to use the 1987 date. IT blows my mind away when I see how cheap the parts in USA. They only problem sometimes is the postage. Who is ripping who off in this Country.

Well Gazza if you are happy shopping out of Oz then so be it.
Remember that cars in USA have always been cheaper by a considerable margin.
My neighbour has been shopping for Desoto parts for his 1939 sedan. Has been using USA distributers even though he can get them here. Lately his parcel hasnt had the right parts or not enough of them and on each occasion has had to send them back at his own expense.
False economy? I myself will buy Ozemite made by Dick Smith myself.
