Your Subaru "unobtainium"
G'day all.
After being bored and doing a search (as usual) for Brumby bits that I probably don't need I stumbled across this sweet sweet subi (below). Hence why I thought it a good thread topic to start - share those dreams and aspirations of Subaru parts or vehicles you see for sale that you'd love to own/respect/look after/make use of.
Here's mine:
AUDM factory RS Turbo wagon... Hmmmmm
And the link to the advert while it lasts:
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/hilton/c ... 1076302603
I've always wanted an unmolested RS turbo wagon. But I thought I e wanted the gun metal grey all along - but now I'm not sure I want to be that fussy looking at this clean (in pics) unit!
It's just wrong time and wrong place for me
*dreams*
I need to win tatts. Should probably buy a ticket first :P
Cheers
Bennie

I bet it would be. I like the number of K's it's got too. Would look into club rego for this and only use for cruises/long drives to see family - not for daily driving.
Problem is:
VT family vehicle,
Ruby Scoo,
Redback Brumby and
The scooter.
Too many vehicles to add another without financial burden. Otherwise I reckon I'd look into this further.
Good to know that a forum member knows of this vehicle though!
He wouldn't take $2500 for it?
Cheers

Well, I don't know if there's one for sale now but when one of these came up in NZ not too long ago I almost felt like flying over there to bring it back:
The older gen Subie's just suit me, I explain it to people by saying they just fit me like a glove Of course I love everything Subaru but a genuine JDM 2 door Leone RX with EA81S is my unobtainium. Being they were rare enough when they were new (and were they even delivered to AUS?) I see this car as the best iteration of the MY body shape vehicles that were produced.

Will it ever end!?

My unobtainable Subaru (hopefully for the moment) is a Brumby. Straight, no rust, no frills... Something like this:
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/reid/car ... 1075225446
I would then strip it, clean it up, get it re-sprayed and re-assembled with Forester EJ20 running gear. Give it a 2 or 3 inch lift, 27in tyres, full overland setup at the back...
It's good to dream, isn't it?!?

Nah the VT has been our rock and an awesome vehicle with the amount of driving we've done in our time with it plus I like having a vehicle capable of towing a car trailer without having to stress about it. And this is also the wife's ride - "they" came as a package dealAndrewT wrote:Scott - Delete the VT and replace it with this. Problem solved?
I also couldn't see her driving a manual every day... I guess there's one way to find out
I know the feeling about your own workshop! Where we're currently renting we have a decent shed, probably the only thing I'll miss about this place!TOONGA wrote:What can I say I have my brumby and my vortex
If I'm good wifey lets me drive the TD forester but then I don't want to drive mine after that
What I really want is my own workshop.
TOONGA
I really wish I had some lazy "burnable" cash for this as I'd love to take it on. The more I think about it the worse I am about letting it slip by It's torture!!
But an AUDM RS turbo wagon...
And the other one for me is the classic RXII coupe (if I haven't already mentoined it!)

Yeah love those too, I think my Fav' though is the R100 coupe. Both pulling some serious coin these daysEl_Freddo wrote:And the other one for me is the classic RXII coupe (if I haven't already mentoined it!)
As for Subaru, I have both, of what I most desire, in the Subie range. An EJ powered Brumby (albeit not yet functional) and also an '83 GLF5 coupe.
I must be living the dream!! (always thought it was someone else's dream I was living though???)
If we're picking other Aussie cars (only secondary choices to our most desired Subarus of course) I'll go a 2 door SS A9X Torana.
At $250-$300k certainly made from unobtanium!!
