brumby carby flooding on start up

Hi every morning brumby 1992 runs fine for a minute then floods carby. Additional info- fuel filter on firewall is always empty after sitting over night but fills immediately engine cranks over- carby hitachi has been rebuilt by carby specialist at Underwood Qld. Once carby floods and then allowed to sit for a period it will start run rough/horrible until excess fuel burnt off then run and start fine the rest of the day. It has the auto choke set up no modifications to any engine or ignition bits- stoke standard. This is doing my head in as it only happens in the morning first start. Any help would be much appreciated. Have been through old threads but can not find any solution so far.

Ah the joys of the hitachi (craptachi) carburetor, It could be that your needle and seat is malfunctioning. Even if the needle and seat is new the damn thing can jam open when cold causing the carby to overfill and flood. (Not the only thing that causes this but most likely)

Take it back to the specialist and get them to fix it (hopefully they gave you warranty)

I agree, have the needle and seat checked. Maybe a particle of crud or left over something from the rebuild is jamming things.
