Seats in an L touring

Hey guys,
Front seats in my new 85 L tourin wagon are showing their age, the lift kit fitted doesnt help coz when you get in and out all your weight rests on the sides of the seat and the foam is collapsing.
Got a quote from an auto upholstery dude, wants ~ 300 to renew the foam and put in new vinyl around the seats.
What i want to know is what members have done in the way of new seats in their L series, and what kind of mods need to be done in the ways of rails.
Pics would be fantastic if you could be bothered.
