Homemade Capacitive Discharge Igniton CDI

I saw these two cdi kits from dick smith and want to make one for my 1990 brumby:

Anyone made this kit? I havnot found many sites that report on its effectivness. The reason I wont to use a kit is that I saw a skematic for one on the internet and it just confused the heck outa me. Atleast with a PCB included theres most of the work done and makes life more simpile.

Anyone ever tried making their own cdi using an ea81 electronic dizzy as the trigger, i would like to hear from you.

Whats 0.9ms like for a spark duration? A bit short?

Any other sugestions greatly appreiciated.
