I'm baaaack!
G'day matey, I've been going great lately.
Wife's PC blew a stick of RAM last night and being a PII 300 with SDRAM it took me a bit of searching to locate some RAM, but luckily I knew a guy who tinkers with PC's and he had a stick of 128MB spare, cost me a carton of Boags Prem Lite .
It's up and going like a house on fire now after having to reformat and install WinXP Pro SP2 again as it crashed when the RAM did and I couldn't even boot it into Safe Mode.

Brett set up a log in and password for me the other night when the email to activate my new account failed to come through.Suba wrote:So what was the thing with the public mesage last night Pete
Mike.
I logged in and changed my password as Brett's was only a temp, then it wouldn't let me into the Forum
I must admit I have been on Brett's nerve's for the couple of days trying to get back into the Forum after the crash.
Brett being the good guy he is.........all is sweet again, THANKS BRETT!!!

My wife has her Accountancy program on the the other HDD.
The worst part is we lost her email contacts and I have had to re-install all the software programs - reset the email accounts - Firewall - AV - Spyware etc it's a PITBA

Lightning_Silver_RX thanks for the offer, but I am now seriously considering buying myself a new P4 and giving this P4 1.8ghz to my wife and also ditching the P2 300, they are antiques now, good for little kids and elderly people who want to learn about computers.Lightning_Silver_RX wrote:Or 49 000 000 XXXX :P
Peter do you want some more parts for the old computer. I have a p2 350 with stuff I am about to chuck in the bin.
Why don't you check out a Retirement Village in your area and see if they want the old P2 or maybe a family who cannot afford to buy a computer, good enough for assignments etc.
