air con pump for brumby

anyone know of a reasonable source for a replacement air con pump for a '91 brumby, local air con bloke reckons about a grand which seems a bit steep, is the pump common to any other models?

I'm in Freo, thanks for the reply, are there any problems with using new type gas with the pumps you have?
