I’ve got mixed feelings about this build. Yes it’s awesome and it does some awesome stuff. But many ppl froth over it being an MY wagon - but is it?
I see this as being in the same category as the door slammer drag racers. I would imagine that the only MY bits left are the doors, roof, bonnet, grill/lights etc and as little of the outer body skin as possible.
Very different to the likes of Brumbyrunner’s desert racer brumby build - it still has 90%-ish of the original body and upon first glance it actually looks like a brumby. The aero and massive track width really hides the MY body shape on the huskster wagon and makes it harder to distinguish if you don’t know what it was to begin with.
Anyway, each to their own. Their attention to detail is amazing and it truely does some insane stuff which is cool to see. I know there will be ppl that disagree with my comments and bits in my projects - and that’s what’s so much fun about vehicle builds - there are many ways to achieve the end goal, and there are many potential end goals too
Thanks for sharing.

Overall I think I like it, really took me by surprise they put so much effort building such a monster out of one of these cars. If you see a shot of whats under the "hood" it's just space-frame everything, really amazing workmanship. I think maybe even the whole front comes off as one i.e, hood, guards, grille etc. The roll cage on the inside

Looks like it could withstand a bomb blast.
Had a hard time picking which parts are still original. The tailgate looks almost un-touched, the tail ilghts, possibly the front grille or they scratch-built a new one to look the same. Thought it was interesting how they made the dash a similar shape to the original touring dash, a nice nod to what it once was.
Hey if it brought this long forgotten model of Subaru back into the limelight for a little bit, how could I not approve

Yes I would say that about 99 % of it is a 'reproduction' ( in fibre glass mostly ) of the Wagon - I think the only bit that's original is the tail lights, even then they would have been tinkered with. ( LED's comes to mind ) If you do have a read through some of the info out there on it - its a long list of things that have been done ...
It has also done some pretty insane track work / jumps etc, although I think Travis scared himself on one jump, as it didn't quite go to plan, with all the areo not playing as was intended. ( It landed heavily nose down from some accounts ) It probably needs some more tinkering to get the right balance.
There's more video of it to trackdown if your into that sort of thing. I found some of the design aspects of it interesting, as it references the USA ski team in the graphics, I also like the digital graphics that go with the dash - recon it would be a ideal swap mod to aspire for those that have an old digi dash that's no longer working.
Will be keeping an eye out for any more updates that come to hand on this one.
Ciao, Bantum ...

Well that didn't go to plan ...

There's a BRAT jump in there too ...
Add : I think they bent the poor thing on landing 'like a banana' ...

Yeah as soon as they said a flat spin jump my first thought was it’ll rotate with the first leading side going down. I kind of thought that would just be basic physics.
Long winded video for a short moment of intrigue turned “tragedy” - the huckster seemed to come off ok considering the impact.
I also think even with higher speed and rotating speed the same thing would happen, maybe just later in the event of what they set out to achieve which would maybe allow them to pull it off. On top of this, it felt like they didn’t factor in the slope of the ramp that would sap ground speed from the huckster as it span its way up it.
Amazing the way that rear wheel instantly ejected itself!
The best jump was kind of cool. Looks like it was original to.
