speed alert thingy???

has anyone heard of an aftermarket speed alert system that can be fitted to any car? i have just been flashed again for being just over the limit and im thinking its getting dire (my licence that is )......... i wonder if a mate of mine who is now living in canada could have been at the wheel of my car today???? our work magna has a system that bleeps when you have gone over trhe set speed.....has anyone seen one of these on the market?

Yeah I saw these years ago for sale at Super Cheap Auto. Not sure if they still do them but they are bound to be available somewhere.

and if you go road angel get it thru a nrma member saves 50 dollars

you can set a maximum speed alert and you get all the other goodies 250 bucks

If you're a bit handy with a soldering iron Jaycar have a Digital Speedo/Speed alert kit that's not all that expensive.

I built a ghetto one, I think based on the same 1997 article they refer to.

Potentiometer, op-amp, hall effect sensor and frequency to voltage converter.

Although that's a pretty spiffy kit for only $60
