It's alive V2.0

Post by Outback bloke » Fri Oct 07, 2005 6:18 am

11.30pm last night saw the new motor all but finished and running. Just
got a few bugs to sort out this morning like changing the temp sender
unit and moving a heater hose. The motor feels pretty responsive. Give
it a quick squirt coming up the driveway and it tries to dig holes. I
can't wait to have it dynoed.

We should run a pool on how long it takes Brett to blow this one up ;)

I bet this one will last a fair bit longer than the last one.

Well I was sorta right, You did break something. Just not the motor.
How are you going to get it on/off the dyno with no reverse?

The engine has been excellent so far. It has bucket
loads of torque right from idle. Towing the van out to Rays was a
breeze. Towing Grant back from the Blackall range was quite simple too.
Some of those dirt hills I thought would stop us in our tracks but it
just ate them up. The temp got up a needle or two
over half at times but I suppose that can be expected towing another
car up and over the range. Fuel economy is a lot better than
the previous motor. it is going to be an awesome motor once it is
tuned.
