Bird poo

Post by jsubie » Sat Sep 22, 2007 6:22 pm

I just spent 15 minutes cleaning my windscreen after some type of flying beast [I doubt it was any normal bird]shat on it. The thing manage to cover most of the passenger side with these black lumps. So I got the wind-ex out and it didn't do a thing; so I got the metho out it and didn't do much ether. So I had to use my pocket knife to scrape them of and then use the metho to get the windscreen clean. If I wasn't in the car when it happened I would of thought it was some little Vandal had done it.

Sounds like a fruit bat... if it is on the window, use an ammonia based cleaner ( just dont get it on the paint. )

( ie handie andie / mr muscle etc - it's like solvent to bird and bat crap)

Yeah mate, parked a KH Laser at the Park Royal one night in Brisbane, by the time we got back to Tamworth and washed it off all the clear coat had started to craze under the crap. Nothing fixed it after that.

I've got paint that's been effected by bird poo... I never knew it could do that much damage in that little amount of time...

I've only ever waxed a panel and then thought F it.
Is there any easy way of doing it, or am I just doing it the hard way.
Don't mind using soapy water to wash the car, but waxing... well its flogs the arms.

Were there any Pea****s near by? I had a pea**** dump on my bonnet one time...I'd never seen so much bird poop!!! Stained the heck out of my bonnet!!! I guess the other options are Geese and swans?

Its definitely bat poop that makes the most damage. Had a splattering on my l for about 2 days, then took it off to discover permanent yellow stains. Had to get the wax out and give it a good old flogging to get any progress on it
