Brumby's internal rear-view mirror is loose

HELP!

The Brumby's internal rear view mirror has recently become loose. The mirror's ball joint doesn't hold a position, so the mirror flops down when driving along.

I've unscrewed the mirror's arm from the ceiling and had a gander at the assembly, but there aren't any visible screws to tighten. The mirror is firmly attached to its black plastic shroud and I reckon if I try and prise the mirror out with a scewdriver I'll just crack the glass.

I'd like to re-tighten the ball joint if possible, but I can't work out a way to do it. :???:

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

BLUE TACK!, gluegun, duct tape, cable ties

or just get a new one.

Given that the mirror still needs to retain the ability to adjust for differnt height drivers, I don't think glueing the mirror into one fixed position is the answer I'm looking for.

While I'm hoping there's a fix available to retighten the ball joint, I'm not adverse to the idea of buying another mirror from the wreckers (or using the windscreen mounted mirror out of my donor liberty).

It would be nice to keep the original mirror though. :)

From Liberty's mirror - after parking it in hot sun/day my rearview mirror is very sensitive, there is an phillip's head screw behind it that you are able to tight it... Fair enough about keeping original - maybe find another one from wreckers that is the same type and not noticeable?
