I want to say a public thanks to Frog for helping me out heaps this last week. As most of you would know he is the parts manager for a Subaru dealer.
when i was looking for the parts to repair the head gaskets on my ej25 i asked him if he would help me out. He has and was also able to provide me with a better than trade discount for the parts i required. I have a trade card so was getting ok prices else where. in the end i got OEM parts from frog for only a little more than i could have got non genuine parts from Auto one or the like.
I'm sure some of you get your OEM parts from some amazing sources and at very good prices but seeing as how i don't have your contacts i was pleased to experiance how this forum can support me with my car.
THANKS FROG:-D

Promotion to the stressful job coming up maybe?
Something I might add on OEM headgaskets - found out at least the EA82 gaskets do not require retension - hell of a labour saving if you believe it, or great satisfaction finding them as tight as specs.
Believe EJ OEM headgaskets also the same

Andy does a bloody awesome job and his side kick Darren damn good too!
Story from today, had to get a hose for my ute and always just transfer the money to their account, this time i need it ASAP as i can't have the ute off the road at the moment. Instead of waiting for the money to come through, they sent it today and told me they trust me for the money! (I do buy alot of genuine parts for my fleet of subaru and other friends, etc)
Not to mention that they had in stock!! Subaru Townsville no longer even keep Oil Filters in stock!!! Everything is order up and take$s weeks sometimes months of constant phone calls!!! One call or email with Andy and you know it is on the way, and if there is any drama's he will let you know ASAP!!!
Top job mate!! Your worth your weight in gold! And get well soon too!!!

Yep... I've got to add my thanks for FROG and his spare parts service! It was prompt even during the floods we had in August - the best parts joint I know of when remotely located!! The guys in lakes are hopeless, I'm not sure they'd know what a car is!
I'm starting to think about a set of front drive shafts FROG, just need to know the postage but will contact you later when required
Cheers
Bennie

I also need to add a thanks to Mr "FROG" here, particularly when he got something new from Subaru for me that was previously "unavailable".

I have a question, how do I find the numbers for a certain parts? I mean the workshop manual only has some generic term for it, no part numbers

Hey Andy,
For you it might be you just doing your job. To us and i would say a lot of other people, it is above and beyond what most customers are used to. The time i send you an email and the time you take to get back with a price , is the same time it takes to get served , and with you i dont have to waste fuel and be , most of the time i can see the item and am 6 feet from the part i wont and get told they dont have any in stock. So from us here anyway, i say you deserve all the thanks.
Many thanks
Rick

I have a parts programme to help me

Or for the old stuff I have books, so you need the book

which are hard to come by I have heard
Note: this is why you will always be pressed to supply a vin number as it will filter out most of the incorrect part numbers
Gets even more interesting with imports and "Frankenbuilds"
Moral here is grab the vin off all your donor vehicles- makes my job easier
