can anyone tell me how to take the rev limiter off my subaru impretzr 96 model cheers lee

Why do you wanna do that, the rev limiter is put in place to prevent the engine from being reved past what its designed for.
There is no point reving past 6000 rpm anyway, as the power output drops off dramatically after this point. If you wanna go faster, change gears and make use of the engines torque curve.

I would have thought owning one that you would at least know how to spell the name

, seriously though it is controlled by the computer and most likely cant and shouldnt be changed anyway ,as Suparoo pointed out , you will gain absolutley nothing by making the engine rev further and could do harm to it .

IF you were changing cam profiles, compression ratios, and fuel mapping then this might be viable. But as the others say, there is no point as it is a safety feature to prevent the engine operating beyond it's designed capacity.

Are you talking about the speed limiter, ie: fuel cut at 180km/h?
