Its probably cheaper to just get a new ej22. Will bolt straight in with no mods so it wont take long to do.

Get one with a big shiny turbo! Then send the EJ22 wiring and computer my way ;) ;) ;)

You know you want to alex, all you're doing at the moment is aquiring some "permission" from your mates for the task at hand... I'm sure you've already got it and if not you'll prob do it anyway (cos you really really want to)...

Devil dave seems to have a WRX sitting idle, maybe you could whip the engine outta that when he's not looking

Cheers

Thanks BrennyV. I was thinking I might be nice and even bring another EA dual range gearbox with me for him next time I drop over - I'm sure he'll need a few of them with his lead foot  I've heard that they're not real easy to source over there... Maybe it should be an AWD box and some drive shafts

Alex would be able to sort some hot chics to keep devil dave distracted long enough wouldn't he (Alex had got milk last time i saw his car, its gotta come from somewhere right?)?

Still reckon he needs a shiny turbo (with a red STI manifold to go with it), polished intake piping and lets not forget the inter-cooler either. I'd never drive my car anywhere near dirt if it were as shiny as alex's - probabily why I don't wash my car...

Anyways, enough dribble for one day.

bahahah great stuff bennie youve got alex's needs down pat.

now i know its not the same kind of engine at all but ive replaced rods on my mate's holden v6 and was piss easy. i know the engine would have to come out and heads prolly pulled off but it doesnt seem that hard to do. a bit of labour sure, but thats what wacky workshops are for!

my vote is to fix it - i still dont think alex has had the most out his ej22 yet. More reasoning for this would be that is is the easiest and quickest option to get him back out 4x4ing with us asap. and you can also do timing belts and HG's while she's apart so you know shes good for years to come.

my other vote is to distract andrew with some girlies and pinch a certain ej22 from wackybug, its not running atm anyway... :P

hahah matty boy u dont understand how different boxer motors are

to get the rods out the motor has to be stripped of nearly every nut and bolt AND the block needs to be split into its 2 halves....

a big task at hand but not undoable

i think a rebuild is a better idea as well

i like the way this thread is going. Im slowing starting to sway to the psssshttt side of things. mmm turbo. I think wanky wagon and funny fluttering/whistling noises would go very well together!.

I'd be just fitting a good used "runner" EJ22 engine , one out one in .

Importers get these engine in from time to time .

A .
