Following on the theme of acquiring cool camping stuff

I got a hankering for a decent esky, went out today and came home with a IceKool (made by EvaKool) icebox. With a bit of luck it'll spend a bit of time full of fish

That is a big box - If you have a couple of paddles you could use it for a canoe

Are they the ones that keep ice for a week?

Yeah, keep block ice up to 5 days. I am gonna make an alloy box to hold blocks without leaking everywhere, or an alloy tank and fill it and freeze it myself
They are also good for filling with crushed ice and sea water to make an ice slurry for throwing bled fish into.
RRP is $225 and is what I paid. Prob a little more than some others, less than others and being made by evakool I was happy to buy - plus Baz has the 50L version and vouched for them
Canoe you say hey? That doesn't seem like too bad an idea!!!
I need a wire basket for it too - anyone suggest where I can find one?

i got a 60ltr one online from a place called techniice. Was a special they were running and only cost $115. I just spent a month camping in Tassie and the esky was my only source for food.........can't say I had any complaints because it managed to keep a bag of party ice for a couple of days
Just looked at the site and they have a new years special for $119-
Go to the rota moulded boxes section at
http://www.techniice.com.au/
Before anyone asks.......no I don't sell them or am affiliated........just figure they are a cheaper alternative and they work. Cheers
