Time got away with us this year due to trips and other commitments. We have had to change the date to later in the year. It may or may not work but it is going to be worth a try.
December 1st.
I know it is late in the year but where we are going to go will make it worth while. Yabba Creek out near Kenilworth will be the destination. This way we get the best of both worlds for board members. A decent drive for the road going vehicles and then once we get there people wanting to have a 4wd can go for a play on one of the many tracks around the area.
It is an excellent place for a group gathering for a BBQ. Plenty of shade, nice swimming hole, fishing, BBQs, toilets etc.
We will post up where we are going to meet, which will most likely be here again, as the day gets closer. We then have a nice drive up through Maleny and out towards Kenilworth. People that are interested can take a short drive in to Kenilworth to visit the cheese factory if they like. There is a short drive along a dirt road in to the area. It is only a few k's long and generally well kept/graded.
It is being planned as a single day event.
Although for those wanting to camp over you must pre-book your camp site. This can be done online at the following link. Make sure you specify
Charlie Moreland as your campground.

A general map of the area can be found here.

Kick off time will be around 8.30am.
The drive will take just over an hour. This will give us plenty of time to relax ,bush walk, fish, chat, what ever before lunch. Bring a picnic with you or use one of the BBQ's on site. Food is available in at Kenilworth which is about a 15 minute drive form the turn off to Charlie Moreland/Yabba Creek.
The drive form there back to Brisbane is around 2 hours so very easy for people to be home before dark if they need be.
Being later in the year we should have had some more rains by then and the creek should be flowing nicely. The area should be at its' best with the recent rains we have had.
Bring the kids, footy, cricket bat and ball or some thing like that.
Any feedback?
