I would consider going, if not working that weekend. But I would like to see other subies, not just WRXs and BRZs...

I reckon it' might be a good show, also not keen on seeing WRX's, I could see that at any Maccas carpark on a thursday night (Maccanats).

Would be nice to have a row or two some oldies there and maybe some track time :p

Lancer? LOL it's been called a Datto and a Corrolla but thats a first, Don't think I'd have Mitsubishi as an avatar on a Subi forum.

It's a 1977 Subaru 1600 2 door sedan mate

That's funny :p , I thought it was a Corolla :D

Those era Lancers are pretty rare, in 1750 cc form. Think it is a 1973 model I have seen over thirty years - doesn't look any older than then, but has something like 1.5 million km on it !

As for the GSR - will never forget it barrelling past me at 90 mph+ on the Hume between Goulburn and Yass ! Has any member got a GSR - besides Paul (he's likely got one:) )

Yeah, WRX's and Golfs - getting a bit like bum'oles .....

All good. I can't see the pic but I know what model you mean, a mate of mine had had one with a Stigma 2600 Starion engine in it. I'm pretty sure it was made by Mitsubishi for Chrysler before Mitsubish took over Chrysler, the last CM valiants had Mitsubishicompliance plates.

by Mitsubishi think it was ??

The very first Sigmas 1978 ? were badged something like Chrysler Galant ? Or Chrysler Sigma, nothin' changed about them when the Mitsu badges appeared.

Very similar looking, same awesome 70's Jap 2 door shape :p I've been seeing a few more fully resto'd Datsuns, Corollas, Civics etc driving around and I love the look, maybe I'll have to find myself a 70's 2 door coupe Subie for myself

Oh and I'd LOVE to go to Subienats in Goulburn...if I lived anywhere near Goulburn that is
Will it ever end!?

I had to laugh at the Lancer comment too... But not many of the old ones left, so completely understandable.

I should take my 1974 4 door sedan:

And I thought everyone on Ausubaru had a GSR tucked away somewhere?

Sublime, I will go just to see your 74 sedan and anything else like it:) looks sweet as.
I had one a long time ago, my first car. It needed a lot of work and sadly I had to let it go:(
A few years later I had the opportunity to buy a 76 sedan in good condition. But it was stolen from under the buyers nose before I had a chance. I was spewing:mad:

Very glad all these years later I see many members here have been collecting Subaru's heritage, driveable or not.

Subaru didn't begin with the WRX or Legacy/Liberty as some folk may think

Hats off to you guys and girls.

Back on topic, would be good if as many NSW forum members can attend Goulburn.

J.

Amazing difference in how you view a car depending on how it has been looked after. There weren't too many 70's models about in the first place and those who must have owned them as 2nd owner+ left them out in the sun, never washed them, rpaired minor dings .....I guess the four door is not a parts donor for the Brumby :D
